Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai – Movie Review
Directed by: Keshav Panneriy
Cast: Himansh Kohli, Manjari Fadnis, Arbaaz Khan, Prem Chopra and Ashutosh Rana
The story as the name suggests, is based on the fact where a character’s life, moments and emotions are portrayed. The character here is Alia Patrick (Majari Fadnis), a successful author, whose life story is told in a flashback in this movie.
Alia is brought up in Catholic family based in Udaipur. Her dad loves his sons more than her because she is a girl child. She being a girl is shifted to a government school to save money. In college, she finds real happiness and peace. She falls in love with a guy named Alex (Himanshu Kohli).
Her strict parents marry her off to a rich hotelier brat, Vikram Pratap Singh (Ashutosh Rana) against her wish. Vikram is proud of his own khandaan and lures Alia’s parents with expensive gifts and properties. Soon Alia is pregnant with a girl child and is pressurized to do abortion.
Alia flees away from the hospital with the help of Lakshmi (Supriya Pathak) who helps women to stand on their own feet. Alia goes to Mumbai and starts working at a Urdu Newspaper Firm.
Alia soon meets the multi millionaire Aditya Kapoor (Arbaaz Khan), who is impressed by her. Aditya falls in love with Alia and is ready to accept her first child too. He invites Alia for a date and she refuses. She is a mom and has to take care of her baby.
The movie involves Alia’s journey from Rajasthan to Mumbai and finally USA. The script of the movie is based on women empowerment but shown in a crude manner.
The music of the movie is really boring and not watchable in a theatre.
Overall, average performances by the cast. Extended cameos by Prem Chopra and Rati Agnihotri cannot save the movie. A movie with purpose but not well executed enough to watch in a theater.
