Recent controversial tweets by actress Richa Chadha have created a tsunami on social media. The controversy around her tweet has reached a fever pitch. Richa, in her tweet, sounds like she is mocking the martyrs of a recent clash in Galwan, India. Many celebrities have spoken out against her views, including Akshay Kumar. Actor Prakash Raj has unexpectedly slammed actor Akshay Kumar and supported actress Richa in this.
South star Prakash Raj came to the defence of actress Richa Chadha in her controversial tweet and smacked Akshay Kumar.
In his reply to Akshay’s tweet about Richa, Prakash wrote, “Didn’t expect this from you @akshaykumar ..having said that @RichaChadha is more relevant to our country than you sir. #justasking” In another tweet, he wrote, “Yes, we stand with you @RichaChadha … we understand what you meant”.
Akshay Kumar had recently criticized actress Richa’s now-deleted tweet. In that tweet, Richa allegedly insulted Commander Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi’s statement about the army’s plan to take back PoK. The actress issued a public apology, but it was too late. The apology was not enough to calm down the country.
Earlier today, actor Paresh Rawal made an indirect dig at Richa Chadha by tweeting his appreciation for the army and wrote, “Indian armed forces. Aap hain to hum hai (we live because you are there).” Although he did not address Richa directly during the controversy, Paresh Rawa’s tweet made his stand clear. Despite all the criticism, actress Swara Bhasker supported Richa and tweeted, “@RichaChadha strength and love to you! (blue heart emoji).”
Indian cricketer Amit Mishra also criticized the actress’ insensitivity and shared a series of tweets.
He tweeted, “Absolutely sickening to say the least.. respect our fallen soldiers, respect those who give their all so that you can sleep peacefully at night.” He also wrote, “What has happened to our priorities? Instead of asking that actress to apologize for mocking Galvan martyrs, people are hounding Akshay Kumar and others who are standing with the Indian army.”
Controversial Tweets Impact: Richa’s upcoming film Fukrey 3, which is set to release next month, has come into the radar of people’s eyes, and the netizens have assured her that they will not enter the theatres. Richa is also the brand ambassador for a healthcare company called Mamaearth. When a Twitter user criticized Richa, the company’s official handle defended her and then a trend of boycotting their products also started.
