Shehzada is an excellent spicy movie with a good mix of comedy, emotion, romance and action to keep the audience entertained. The movie has been released in theatres. Shehzada is the Hindi remake of Allu Arjun’s movie Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. For this remake, director Rohit Dhawan cast Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. Let’s see how much this Shehzada movie will entertain.
Cast: Karthik Aryan, Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Sachin Khedekar, Rajpal Yadav
Director: Rohit Dhawan
Shehzada Movie Story
The movie begins with swapping newborn children. Valmiki Upadhyay works in the company of Randeep Nanda. Coincidentally, Valmiki’s wife and Randeep Nanda’s wife both have a child on the same day, and both have a boy. Valmiki did not want his child to grow up in poverty, so he swapped his child with his master’s immediately-born child.
Time passes, and Bantu grows up, during which time his fake father, Valmiki, never gives him love. But an incident changes his life completely when he finds out that Valmiki is not his birth father. Now Bantu knows everything. He enters his natural home with a job and helps his mother and father with all the problems without revealing his truth.
The twist in the story comes when the Bantu learns about Valmiki’s actions. What happens after this in the story? Will the Jindal family accept Bantu? For this, it would be better to watch the entire movie.
Writing and Direction
Shehzada is the new Hindi remake of ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’. This is an example of how a good and bad movie is made on the same story. Rohit Dhawan has almost copy pasted all the scenes, but they need to create the same impact as the original movie. The total Shehzada movie budget is around Rs 65 crores. The screenplay of the Shehzada movie is by Rohit Dhawan, who also directed it.
The initial hour of the Shehzada movie focuses on comedy and romance. But the comedy scenes don’t make you laugh and bore you. The affair ends as quickly as it begins. There are two-three fight sequences in which Karthik looks like a complete misfit. In the second half of Shehzada, there is a tempering of emotion, but even here, it does not work.
Emotions touch the heart in the movie’s last few minutes, and by then, it is too late. There are many flaws in Rohit’s screenplay and direction, which even the general audience can easily catch. The biggest mistake of Rohit Dhawan is that he made this movie with the wrong hero. The movie may be a remake, but Rohit’s touch is visible. Rohit has put the movie on the screen in his own style.
Shehzada Movie Cast and Acting
Karthik Aryan could not create the same magic that Allu Arjun created in the original movie. Kartik Aaryan’s acting could be better. A big star is necessary for such a role, and Karthik has to cover a long distance to reach there. At the same time, he has managed to create action, romance and a little bit of emotion. He has yet to be seen more or less anywhere.
The director forgot Kriti Sanon after the start of the movie. Later she becomes a side character from the heroine. Paresh Rawal is in the role of Murli Sharma. If you have seen Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, you will become a fan of Murali. We all know the comic timing of Rajpal Yadav. As always, this time, too, it has been amazing. Paresh Rawal is an excellent actor, but his performance in Shehzada is average.
All the other characters have also done a great job in the movie. Ronit Roy, Manisha Koirala, and Sachin Khedekar are capable actors and have given decent performances in their roles. On an acting level, the job was done right here. But no such scene in the movie settles in your mind. The cast tries to keep you interested in its story to some extent. But the wrong direction makes the movie dull.
Music and Cinematography
Sudeep Chatterjee and Sanjay Gupta do the cinematography of Shahzada. Sudeep has previously shot dramas like Padmavat, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Bajirao Mastani. Sudeep has shot a masala movie this time with his camera. He presented the movie beautifully with his camera. At the same time, Ritesh Soni has edited Shehzada. In terms of editing, this movie looks dull. The first half seems excessively long, which it could have reduced. Because of this, this movie could have been crisper.
The music is by Pritam. One or two songs are good. Director Rohit Dhawan needed help to create the situation correctly, even for the songs. Any song drips at any time. Karthik and Kriti have improvised the dance steps. Money has been spent on the songs, but the choreography needs to improve. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has a great scene where Allu stands at the table in the conference and speaks through songs, which has been removed from the Shehzada movie.
Karthik Aryan’s explosive performance will not disappoint you. His comedic presence, as well as the delivery of reactions, is incredible. Kriti Sanon has also played her role very well. Rajpal Yadav’s scenes are few, but his superb comic timing will not disappoint the audience. The actor’s one-liners will make you whistle.
You can watch Karthik Aryan’s Shehzada with your family. This movie also teaches values from family emotions. The comedy is reasonably good, and the work of the cast in the movie is also acceptable. This movie cannot be called a good movie or a bad movie. The movie of 2 hours 46 minutes has been made acceptable. If you want to watch an entertaining movie with the family this week, watch Shehzada.
